Newington, New Hampshire, United States
Had a good travel day - left Searsport Ocean Resort at 10:45, after dumping, filling tanks, and running dogs at the “canine aquarium” one last time.  Also stopped for tire pressure checks at a local tire shop outside Belfast, then headed for the turnpike to make good time to southern Maine.  I am attracted to York as it it headquarters to Stonewall Kitchens, maker of my favorite salad dressing, Lime Cilantro.  But they have a huge Company Store with samples, a cafe, cooking school, and gallery viewing of the kitchens.  We find a Walmart in Augusta to replenish our depleted food supply, Sam’s Club in Scarborough for gas (only $2.67/gal - cheapest we’ve seen since the second day of our trip!) then drove on to Stonewall Kitchens by 5:30 - I had called ahead to ask if we might stay in their lot overnight since we are arriving late and wanted to try the cafe tomorrow morn.  Over the phone, it sounded promising, but when we arrived, they said not possible to stay in the lot.  So after shopping the store which was open til 8pm, we drove into town of York just as it was getting dark.  It was a charming town, loved the New England style architecture and then found the “York Gaol” - an authentic, historic jail!  Loved it, but may have to return tomorrow to get inside - it is apparently the oldest surviving British Colonial public structure still standing on it’s original site since 1719!  And I just happened by!!  You know I love a good jail!  On our way out of town, we also discovered a very cool site, the First Parish Cemetery originating in 1837.  Too dark to go read some headstones, but made a scary picture!  Then we set out to find the closest Walmart as there were only 2 campgrounds in town, on the coast and charging over $100 for the ocean front sites, which were basically a parking lot on the beach!  I’ve never seen RV’s packed so tight!!  But we had to go 15 miles to Newington, NH to find a Walmart - and it was a difficult location process - 2 GPS devices could not seem to get us there even though we could see it from the freeway!!  Finally made it here about 9pm and staked our site in the parking lot and pulled out our rotisserie chicken, microwaved some broccoli with generator assist, and even found some TV stations to entertain.  Breakfast in York tomorrow if we can find our way back!
