Saint Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada
The rain hit last night, but just made for relaxing sleeping weather.  So relaxed that I slept til 9, not meaning to, but it was sunny and pleasant by morning (thank goodness we had put the chairs in last night).  We had a bit of anxiety last night after letting dogs out for the last trip - that darned door hinge had come completely off, and for some reason would not allow the door to close.  You would think with the hinge all the way off that nothing would obstruct the closing, but with rain threatening, we couldn’t even get the door to seal.  I had visions of a bungee cord door closing, but after crawling on the ground in the dark and trying brute force (which did not work), I don’t know what I did, but it closed easily - what a pain!  Next, I was trying to remember to return the gate card before our departure, so I looked up front to put it somewhere that I would see when starting to drive - how about right in front of dash/speedometer?  Set that card right up front, and it immediately disappeared down into steering column like it had been sucked up by the ticket taker!!  Shoot, now crawling on floor under front seat trying to retrieve, next poking things up from below, finally poking a long knife with putty on the tip, trying to reach or knock the card out of there.  All attempts unsuccessful, and don’t want to miss the market, so I go to desk and confess to campground staff that my RV ate their gate card - not sure the French lady got the whole story, but she laughed and charged me $5!  Then off to the Public Marché (Farmer’s Market) before we check out.  The market was small, but at least had fresh veggies - got our tomatoes, zucchini, fresh golden beets, and raspberries.  Then back to the campground to pull up stakes by 12:15 and on the road towards New Brunswick, and eventually Maine.  We’re chancing it with no reservations on a Saturday night, but if all else fails, I see a Walmart on the route that may be a potential night’s stay.  We reached the end of the Gaspé Peninsula route at Point a la Croix and calculated another 2 hr drive to St Leonard which is close to the Maine coast - you can cross there, or drive farther south on the Trans Canada Highway to make better time.  So we called ahead and found a reservation at St Leonard Camping - they asked if music was OK because this is their concert night.  Sounded like a fun Saturday night, so we’re in!  Had a long stretch of “ribbon road” - straight ahead, with hills and valleys, as far as the eye could see!  10 billion pine trees and timber/logging businesses, lots of moose precaution signs, and only 2 towns in 120 miles across New Brunswick, but no actual moose was sited:(  When we came off the Peninsula, we left Quebec Province, and were in New Brunswick Province, and lost an hour going into Atlantic time zone, so arrived St Leonard about 5:20 pm instead of our calculated 4:30pm.  I had some housecleaning to do, so washed floors, swept, and vacuumed while Linda took a couple loads to the laundry.  Then dinner prep with our fresh veggies, and getting ready for the concert - that means sweatshirts since it’s cold here after dark!  This place is a little city - playgrounds, restaurant named Pinky’s, hundreds of golf carts, kids on bikes and roller blades, fireworks, and now the concert.  We are close to the stage, so after going to the concert for awhile, we came back to the RV and hear every beat of the music in our RV.  The concert was unique in that the shelter was lined with parked golf carts and outdoor fire pits.  They are playing til12:30 so we don’t miss any sleep!  Linda reports there are free showers here, so will save that treat for morning!  “Stand by Me” playing now, RV is rocking!
