Levis, Quebec, Canada
Left Ivy Lea about 10:30 am, driving the remainder of 1000 Island Pkwy until it ran into 401, skirting Montreal, and continuing about 6 hours to Levis (pronounced La-vee) where we discovered our campground is again in the farmlands; rain has returned, it’s hot and humid, just what I left GA for!  But, campground is Camping Transit, owner Roche speaks English, and there is a free shuttle to get to the ferry into Quebec City (about 15 min ride to ferry, about $5 US for RT ticket, and 10 min ride to gates of Old Town Quebec City).  We have a great site in front of the dog park, and are only 1 mile from Le Manoir des Majestes (had planned to walk the dogs there, but after hiking the wrong direction into the fields, getting caught in a rain storm, and getting the full aroma of the manure fertilized fields, we were ready to disconnect RV for a driving trip to the “Manor”). Manor owner breeds Golden Retrievers and Corgis, but let our Weims in for day boarding - chain link play yards inside and out, and Sara managed her separation anxiety fairly well, after 2 Prozac and a tranquilizer!  Anyway, we took Tues, 8/9 to rest up, plan our week, do laundry, and check out the facilities.  However, as our luck has it, Linda discovered she may have a UTI and had no clue on how to get antibiotics here in CA.  We googled Urgent Care, talked to insurance, and GA doctors, campground host told us Quebec province is only province that does not accept US MD prescriptions;  Lynn sent us a link for Canadian virtual doctor visits, getMaple. Ca; we tried the local urgent care, but the answering machine was in French only, we couldn’t understand anything, couldn’t get a human...Roche says it is the law in this province that all businesses must communicate in French only by introduction to business, but when you go in person, they may speak in English, so we chose Lynn’s virtual doctor app - had us video chat with a doctor in English, upload a picture of “the patient” (that was a challenge for us!) and he asked what antibiotic she needed, and we had an electronic prescription on the spot!!  Next, get to Quebec City, find an apothecary, and upload the Rx, which all happened in amazing ease! We couldn’t believe it all worked out, Linda feeling better!  The rest of Wednesday, we enjoyed the city - climbed huge hills, 60-70 steps at a time through heat and rain (which meant it was time to eat!), found a chocolate factory, gelato stores, the Citadel, quaint old European streets, artist tents and performances; on Thursday we discovered the Quebec Farmers Market (Marche du Vieux-Québec Port) which had locally grown produce, baked goods, cheese, and international specialties - rows of  Asian teas, spices of the Middle East, and then artwork, lots of wood, and their famous maple syrup... could have spent all day there!  So two full days in the city and then on Friday, 8/10, we did our Costco gas trip, Walmart (looking for Gorilla tape to repair flapping heat pads on water tanks and a new “baton de selfie” - oh, sorry, I slipped into French again - hah, that means I lost my selfie stick!), and spent the afternoon biking the gorgeous bike paths of Levis along the river - about 12 miles total added to our leg pain from all the stairs and hills we climbed, ugh!!  Another problem noted at Costco - I think my heater pad is falling off the tank, probably due to a very sharp scrape coming out of a previous gas station, so a little Gorilla tape repair for the time being!  But checking out tomorrow and heading for Gaspe Peninsula!  BTW, finding the Google translation app loses a lot in the translation - see pics for crazy translations!!
