Searsport, Maine, United States
Just what I needed today - slept in til almost 10, had breakfast outside in the sunny, cool air; made the Creme Brûlée French Press coffee so it could be a leisurely breakfast like at the coffee shop!  Then a little housekeeping in the RV, gathered up everything that needed laundered and carted 2 large loads to the laundry room - all machines in use, so we wandered up to the Canine Aquarium (dog park) and let Maggie run her Zoomies, Sara meandered the fence line to stay out of her way.  Then checked out the Farm Stand across the road, Linda returning with fresh corn and a small cantaloupe.  In between trips to the laundry, we found the goat pen and 2 lethargic goats, roamed the gardens again (where we were told we could pick anything we wanted, although not too many vegs remain; flowers are gorgeous, should have brought some back for the picnic table!).  I came away with a small, yellow gourd-like squash, leaf lettuce, and one small onion.  And then we explored the campground beach, the drawing point for me!  I wanted to walk on the beach, and even though very rocky, it is so serene and clear to the ocean floor.  Water was quite nippy, but good for shuffling your feet through!  Looked again for sea glass, supposed to be known for that on the Maine coast, but saw none.  Then it was back to our RV where I tried out my new LL Bean camp rocker while doing my bill pay online-nice!  By the time I finished, I realized I needed a sweatshirt again - high today was 68 and in the sun that was great, but as soon as the shade comes over the RV, I’m pulling out my long sleeves!  Dinner had to incorporate our farm/garden crop - salad with beets, wild Maine blueberries, yellow tomatoes, garden lettuce; squash was a joke because when I cut it, I realized it was all seeded in middle - I managed to trim the edges enough to sauté it in butter, giving us each about 3 bites!!!  But corn, leftover salmon/chicken, and a great salad satisfied us perfectly!  It’s a shower night, as everyone has bragged about the showers here - yes, they have free, HOT water and are clean, but I did have to have it out with a few mosquitoes!!  A peaceful, serene sunset made us think maybe (?!) it might be good to get up for sunrise over the ocean tomorrow?  I’ll let you know how that goes....
