Chandler, Quebec, Canada
A little cloudy this morn, but we finally got to speak to our neighbors here - we’ve been speculating on their fancy “rig” - it’s a triple cab with row boat elevated above cab and towing at least a 35 - 40 ft trailer.  We wanted to know what was in that triple cab behind driver’s cab because I could see a license plate through the window.  Turns out he had this cab custom designed with the lift to hoist boat to roof, and room to store 2 ATV’s in cab (or she says, if they have company they can set up a queen size bed in there to be a guest room!) and they have been full time RV’ing for 8 years now.  They live 6 months in Arizona, but have to return to Canada rest of year since they are from British Columbia officially.  Just another interesting life story!  We headed out and stopped at the beach site we found yesterday to give Maggie one last Zomie - it is overcast and actually chilly, sorry I had not worn my jacket down to beach.  Maggie ran, and we got some great pictures of Maggie playing and Sara sitting!  Just not the same peppy girl she used to be.  Then back on the road to Percé, famous for it’s famous rock - a rock rising out of the sea, but connected by land when the tide is out.  We actually timed the tide right, could have walked out, but huge storms were moving in suddenly.  You’ll see by our pictures that when we first photographed it, sun was out - 30 mins later skies were black and strong winds made it cold, so we headed back to town for cover.  The town is a bit like Helen, GA - bumper to bumper traffic of tourists, souvenir shops, high fees for parking - one place wanted $21 for an RV to park and I’m not sure I could have made it into a spot.  We lucked out and found one long spot on a dead end row - can you believe I turned the RV around in the road to get into that space, then had to use a parking machine to pay $8 “tariffs”, but we were parked!  We also found a little grocery in the town with some decent broccoli and asparagus, and some fine Nutella brownies, and some local wine.  So all is well with the world again :). Being chased by the storm, but getting very little rain, we stopped for the horror of gasoline purchase.  I actually had an attendant pump it, all gas stations since Québec City have had exact same price (CA $1.37/Liter) which makes that gas pump roll to over CA $172 (US $137 for 33 gallons!!!). No wonder Canadians think the US is so inexpensive!  We’re now getting into bigger towns - train stations and IGA grocery stores, automobile dealerships in Grand Rivier and Chandler where we were led astray by WAZE, but did see a sports complex, running/bike trails, outdoor art displays just across the road from the coast - really beautiful.  This time the Rand McNally GPS bailed us out and got us to our campground.  This is a very unique campground experience - it offers Nova Lumina at 8 and 9pm - the staff has a hard time explaining it but one brochure says “a night path by the sea, an immersive experience”, pictures show hooded people in the trees with flashlights, it might be some ritualistic ceremony!!!  But it started raining right after we arrived, so laundry is our most exciting activity of the night.  But the campsites are wide and spacious, in the forest, numbered with cute signs - very crowded!  We lucked out to get one night here!
