Port Everglades Terminal 25, Florida, United States
Up at 7am this morning as of 9am we vacate our starboard balcony suite on Deck12 Aloha A443 to spend the next 10 days port side on Deck 9 Dolphin D608 further back rear midship. Beggars cannot be chooser’s when you don’t know where you are going to stay for the next 12 or so days due to Bob and Linda going back to Canada at the end of March. If we had of known before leaving Perth I could have researched on the Internet and made alternative plans and not had all this stress.Packed all folded clothing and toiletries ready for the Head Housekeeping Supervisor to take our suitcases and hanging clothes down to our new home D608 on Deck 9. Said our goodbyes to Alberto (from Mexico City) who looked after our suite for the last 20 days and spoilt us with little extras. He appreciated the extra tip Richard gave him. Went to have a look at our new suite, which is on a lower level just above the Tenders so if there is an emergency we can just jump over the balcony on top of a Tender. The Royal Princess is very crowded this morning as passengers have ended their 10/20 day cruise and going home. Disembarking took a little longer this time, passed through Customs/Immigration quickly seeing we were In Transit. Didn’t dock at the main Princess Terminal 1instead Pier 21 where all the other cruise ships were. There are over six large cruise ships in this section of the Port plus two docked in the canal close to the coast line that ends at Miami.Caught the free Shuttle that takes you to the Princess Terminal 1 which is some distance away then we walked to Embassy Suites where I didn’t have any luck with a refund for the 29 March. “Not happy Jan” when told Italk Travel had not cancelled the reservation for the 29 March sent them an email of the 25 March plus Mandy had been in touch with Melinda there. Crossed over to the Shopping Centre to Publix stocked up on toiletries, Checked out the Pandora for Mandy then went to Einstein to catch up with emails. Will be glad when Embassy Suites is sorted.Caught the Embassy Suites Shuttle back to Pier 21 couldn’t embark till after 12 noon when new passengers were being processed. All ready for a new group of people hope these ones have better hygiene (a lot didn’t like washing their hands before entering the buffet areas) and are not wingers like the last lot.Late lunch, the afternoon passed very quickly and before we knew it, it was 7pm quickly showered and dressed for dinner. Being in a different section of the ship the lifts at the rear of the ship only go to deck 7 and you go up one flight of stairs to midship to take the lift to the lower decks. Finally found our way to the Traditional Dining Room Concerto. The only problem is every night even though I have pre-order from the Menu the night before it takes the Food/Drink Waiters a long time to pour our water and take Richard’s food order then be served our meals. Said our hellos to staff we knew, their day is very long 14 hour shift and they work in different areas. It was after 9pm when we finished retired for the night to our balcony suite with a peppermint tea.
