Tupiza, Bolivia
Well that was a night I don't think none of us will forget, with all of us in the same room the beds had 5 different old granny style blankets on them that’s how cold it was but the effects of altitude mean that you just don’t really sleep –that with the alcohol meant we all sufferend the same thing – sleeping for 2 hours waking up, taking ages to get back to sleep only to wake again – it was awful. At 4am we were woken but poor Sun had been up for ages already being sick with a horrible headache she didn’t even have any alcohol this was pure altitude sickness, Conner felt sick too with a slight headache but that could defo have been the rum the rest of us were not too bad, I had felt sick in the night but it had passed.

As we packed our bags back into the jeep in the dark at 4am we were all shattered, heads rolling about trying to sleep and all of us at points with a ton of coca leaves in our mouths to help with the effects of altitude… .for poor Sun this did nothing she was feeling rubbish still the rest of us were not too bad.

We seen lots of cool rock formations today and loads of llamas and wild other things that look like llamas cant remember what they are called. We also stopped at a volcano with the most amazing blue lake at the bottom of it, it was absolutely gorgeous. There are loads of flamingos on the lakes too they always run away as you get close to get pics though.. We also stopped beside a red lake, the pics below show how red it was its caused by the algie living in it.

It was a long old day travelling and we were exhausted but we seen so much cool stuff we really are in the middle of nowhere.

We arrive at the hostel for the night, again no heating but the option of a cold shower - it had been soooo dusty so we dipped ourselves in it - Sun was super brave she actually washed her hair - I was happy to go dirty haha. We had another great feed from Sylvia our cook - she stayes up most of the night cooking out stuff for lunch the next day too - they have the most basic cooking facilities its crazy.

We had just a couple of drinks tonight in hope of getting good sleep - we didnt have to get up till 6am tomorrow so it wasnt so bad !!!!
