We left Songdal and quickly went back again to pick up the ACSI card we left behind! Caught the ferry to Fodnes, then on the main E16, diverting to see the Stavkirke at Borgrund. This is the oldest and one of the 3 best in Norway.  We arrived just at the same time as a coachload of Japanese tourists.
  Then down the rather boring 52 to Gol, where we couldn't find the LPG station, and on by the 7 to the big ski-ing centre of Geilo, where we joined the 40 towards Kongsberg.
This road was a bit of a switchback, climbing up and up and then down a series of hairpins into the valleys again.
  We found a really good overnight spot by a slow flowing river with mirror like reflectio
