We lazed around the camp, organizing an evening sunset cruise and a fishing trip for Tony L. Once we had waved him off from the boat ramp at noon, Marg, Sue & Tony headed to a nearby cafe for the lunch time $5 special of a piece of fish and some chips, lovely and fresh and delicious.

Back at camp a lovely lady Tony J had made eyes at the day before, brought us a blue salmon she had caught on her morning fishing trip - so Tony gutted and filleted it, with the help of Mick & Larry .

At 4pm Sue and Marg got a lift with Larry, Mick and Lyn to the sunset cruise jetty in Karumba town. We were early so had a drink at the "Animal Bar" before boarding the boat tour run by The Ferryman. The Animal bar was pretty quiet but it was easy to imagine how it could live up to its name later in the evening.

The Cruise headed down the river towards Normanton for about half an hour, our skipper told us a bit of history about the zinc refinery, the live cattle exports, the Barramundi centre and an old wreck - before we turned back towards the gulf.

At this point they served up some wine and snacks, followed by a plate of delicious gulf prawns, and of course a Jabiru graced us with a fly past. All this was magnificently timed to take in the glorious Karumba sunset from the water.

Back at camp Tony J met Tony L when he returned from the fishing trip and helped him fillet the 4 nice sized blue salmon he had caught.

"Our Chef " TonyJ lightly battered the fish and served it together with Kipfler potatoes - nothing like a fresh fish feed.
