Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, Exuma, Bahamas
Good morning storm

Bryan and I woke up at 3:30AM to lightening and the storm it hit hard and fast…talk about bow slap on the boat awhacka whacka :-) Bryan and Craig made there way up to the bow to rescue our tanning cushions the fear was that they might blow off boy was it windy . I then drifted on and off of sleep and decided to get up early to see the sunrise, it was an incredible sunrise so peaceful even with the waves and wind it was a stunning moment. Looks like it will be a very warm day I'm sitting outside as I type this blog posting it windy but really warm. The only rain we saw all day was sudden squall a short burst of rain that passed in less than 10 min.

So what is in store for today, a walk and gentle hike up Boo Boo Hill, perhaps another snorkel. Oh what a rocky day but sunny as I mentioned earlier, we had 24 knots up to 44 knots (gale force level winds) and then back down to 22 to 24 knots a bouncy day. Bryan has a great gadget and app for his IPhone that can check the winds speed so he monitored it several times during the day, it worked fairly well…thank you Seattle boat show. What did we see today a number of manta rays and we are pretty sure a shark passed by the stern of the boat. We didn’t swim at all today because it was so choppy and there is a very strong current running past our boat . Around 10AM we were leisurely hanging out and Bryan noted a person was venturing out in his dingy he made a comment what are they thinking… then it became very clear what they were doing, rescuing our dingy…omg…our dingy came loose and was heading for the shore these nice people took it into the beach. Bryan quickly put his swimming gear and swam into the beach, Craig and I got some lines ready with a fender to throw out to Bryan luckily the tide was low and they could walk for part of the trip back to the boat.   Another story to add to our adventure and a lesson learned.

Marjorie and I did a workout on the cockpit the aft deck, it was awesome so nice to have someone to workout with and doing this in the sun with a breeze was perfect. The rest of the day was very relaxing nice and lazy.

We learned how to play 10,000 dice game in the afternoon it was fun, Craig won with a few amazing rounds he said it was his first win…way to go Craig . We decided to make our way to the registration office in the dingy then walk up to the Boo Boo Hill, it was a very bumpy crazy wet ride in the dingy to the beach and we got soaked with the waves going up and into the dinging a wee bit cold but a lot of fun. We all walked up to Boo Boo Hill we are estimating that it was 150 feet high which is a big mountain in the Exuma’s …this memorial was really interesting learning about the Island and the mongoose trees and bird life during the walk. Craig carved our boat name into a piece of drift wood and we proudly placed it among the others. The path also lead us to their local blow holes very interesting but although the winds are high today they were in the wrong direction so nothing was a blowing. It was really interesting to see how the weather has eroded away at the lime stone rock making small holes and really sharp edges you wouldn’t want to do this walk with out shoes on.

The trip back to the boat in the dingy was wet and whooly but fun. We had appys and then a good soup for dinner another great night on board. The night ended with another episode of Breaking Bad we have all of the seasons taped and we are trying to make our way through them during this vacation.

Tomorrows plan is to make our way to Staniel Cay it is approx 15 miles from here not sure if we will stay there but we may just pop in and then move on it will depend on the weather …of course.
