Turks Caicos, Turks and Caicos
Good Morning

We are up early and getting ready to leave this lovely resort . I'll say it again I would definitely come back to TC for a hot holiday.

Winds are calm a bit breezy for the morning but they are supposed to go down and they are at our back so that is all good for this 1st mate.

The optimistic plan is to get to Crooked Island if the waves are big we will tuck into Mayaguana Island.

We may not get internet access there so I will update you as soon as I can it might be tomorrow evening.

Well we had a change of plans the skipper read about this place Acklins Island and so we decided on a long day 118 miles, but it was so worth it this very small bay is stunning, Atwood Harbor a secluded place on Acklins Island. It has the most incredible soft sand beach and no one on it or around it a hidden gem. We have decided to stay here tomorrow too we just can't give this place up. The cruising guide says to dinghy to King Errison's Pestell Beach bar it is close by owned by the famous percussionist for Neil Diamond he is a born Bahamian and bought this bar . We will try and find that tomorrow. The trip here started with some pretty choppy waves and high swells but mid day it settled down and I settled down funny how a week on land in a marina gets you out of the practice but the swells became smaller as the day progressed. It was a warm day 87 all day. The Bahamas waters are so interesting at one point we had 12,0000 feet of sea below and then quickly it went to 5,000 then 50....just like a bank or ledge. We say some gulls and a few whales off in the distance as we travelled nothing close to us.

Once we set anchor we snorkelled into shore and walked the beach an aha moment for both of us. I don't think I've ever heard Bryan rave about a place as much as this beach :-) Tomorrow we will dinghy in so we can bring along our water shoes and walk the island and also find a better snorkel place the ground her is all sand so wonderful for beach but no coral / fish to see. I read somewhere that there are approximately 100 people on this island somewhere we will see.

Dinner on board tonight consisted of Amy's chili very good I have to say and Heather's special salad a tasty meal after a long day. As I type this we are swaying in the gentle breeze yup I love this place.

More to report on the island tomorrow.
