Bus stops

Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico
Got up late, about 8:30 am. Went walking around the west part of town, looking for another inexpensive room. This one is okay, except for being right next to a church where people go in for prayer and pay to ring the huge bell (it's like lighting candles). Same problem at Joco (no wonder these are the cheapest places in town), but the bell doesn't ring as often here (bunch of heathens!)

The bus stops usually have 4 to 6 people waiting.

Looks like these dogs have their own bus stop!

Looks like too many english speaking people around here.

This poor guy definitely needs a little TLC

                (maybe a home, too)

And how would you like to be the driver of THIS truck?

Maybe he's the Hulk and he just picks it up and moves it over (or just bashes the other two cars out of the way).

Anyway, I really took a good look around, even going in places that I just knew were out of my budget, just to make sure, leaving no stone unwalked (to coin a phrase, or maybe not: surely someone has used it before). Walked around for about three hours. Got hot and tired. Dragged my butt back to my room. Had coke and a Hostess cupcake for 'brunch'. Worked a little bit on the blog. Started falling asleep on the keyboard. Took a nap, for about two hours.

Got up and went out for a more exploratory walk, mostly along the lake, going east.

Enough walking. It's time to eat. Kind of entered this restaurant on a whim. Walked by it previously. Couldn't remember if it was a recommended one. But I didn't wan to do any more walking, so I bravely walked in.

Walking up to the hostess stand you see an enclosed dining area to the left.

From the hostess stand, it opens up into a courtyard with tables left, right, and ahead (I was off to the right - you can't see it).

There are a few more tables hidden farther back and off to the right.

I couldn't believe a cucumber salad with the chips and salsa.   They call this 'Salmon oriental style': served over broccoli and oriental mushrooms, with a caramel orange glaze. One of the best pieces of salmon I've ever eaten.

Walked around a little after dinner, taking the long way back to my room. Even on Sundays, people will line up their wares along the main road, just trying to earn a living.
