Stormy Sunday

Rivière Noire, Rivière Noire, Mauritius
A wet and humid start to the day as we went to Kamil's to print off some forms for the Chinese visa which was to occupy most of our day. Apart from the application form a detailed itinerary and a list of hotels in order plus proof of funds and confirmation of our exit flight. A copy of a bank statement had to be acquired from uk where at least our tenants had got the new central heating boiler installed today. Of course this has all got to be in duplicate and we have a limited time slot to get the visa organised otherwise we would have arranged it back in the uk.
Upon our return,Anjali and Gautam called round to collect some suitcases they had left with Miranda .Amazingly they have an old spare printer just arrived in their stuff from Australia and offered it to Miranda as she had said she was going to buy one instead of pestering her son to use his all the time.
So after lunch and another stormy shower we drove over to Flic en Flac ,a nearby seaside resort where they have a flat to collect it. It took an age to set up on Miranda's laptop but eventually all the financial information required for the visa was printed off. As the rain had now stopped we all went for a walk along the lovely wide sandy beach where the locals were picnicking under the trees and some braving the surf. The waves crashing on the reef were most impressive. We all enjoyed a spoonful of almond kulfi from a proper ice cream seller before a nice supper in a local restaurant which I'd decorated and named after bottle tops La Capsule. thankfully we were under cover in the garden but the rain had now died out for the day. More promised for tomorrow though.
