Santiago, Chile
Well going to sleep early did not sort out any form of jet lag - at 0330 am we were wide awake and starving. We went out and sat on the balcony it was pretty cold - love it though its ok to be hot during the day so long as it cools down at night. We tried to get back to sleep and of course Marc managed no bother I just ended up watching TV.

Cheese fest breakky
I got up about 0730 which is the normal time for breakky in a place but no it was 0830 but the guy said he would sort me some woo hoo - I got a cuppa tea and some cheese and ham and bread - they he says I have some local cheese with corriander and chill would I like some . Haha would I like some,....... corriander, chilli and cheese are my 3 favourite things nevermind them all put together. He brings out 2 huge blocks of cheese and leaves me to it EEEEK I LOVE CHEESE

Marc got up not long after I had my cheese fest breakfast, his however was served on the other balcony and he only got a roll and a slice of cheese and ham haha

We moved into dorm beds today - something we have managed to avoid but at £35 for a room for the night its just too expensive so for £22 for us both we had our wee bunks. It turned out to be just us in them all night anyway so all good. Didnt stop me continually waking up to see if people had come in haha.

Free Walking Tour
This afternoon we went on a "free" city walking tour. The tour guide was great bursting with energy taking us round the city. The tour wasnt exactly free but you had to pay by way of tips, the guy was good though so we didnt mind so much. We went round all the major buildings in the city and ended it at the bottom of San Christobal Hill which is an excellent viewpoint "a must do" apparently.

San Christobal Hill
The tour was 4 hours long and by the end of it I was seriously shattered, I had been up since 0330 but it was almost sunset and the view was meant to be amazing, we got a little train thingy to take us up there which only took 4 mins I could manage that

The view from the top was utterly amazing the andes on one side and the sprawling city on the other it was huge, we sat for a bit to watch the sunset which is now 8pm - I was exhausted all I could think about now was bed. We made our way back down to get the train but imagine my absolute horror when we realised it closed at 8pm !!!!!!!!!!

Well I could have cried - it was an HOUR fast paced walk down the hill a whole fooking hour - round and round and round to get out it felt like we were never getting down. By this point now it was dark and there were freak nutters actually still jogging and cycling UP this hill which was bloody steep.

We got to the bottom eventually, I don't know how I was still standing my poor legs were like jelly we wandered lost till we eventually found a taxi, who totally bumped us off for the fare but I would have paid anything to get to bed haha.

Costs
Free walking tour for 2 - £12
Dorm in 6 bed room - £11 each
Taxi fare for 3km ride - £7.52 we asked for the meter but no way should it be this expensive surely !!
