Rain, sun, wind and rainbows

Sogndal, Western Fjords, Norway
When we woke up it was fairly clear, with the end of a rainbow going into the fjord.  During the day we had every type of weather, getting a bit drier as the day went on.
This is a Bank Holiday weekend and all day Norwegians have been arriving in their enormous twin axle caravans and the site is now almost full.
The Norwegians love being outside.   They sit outside their caravans, with coats on, wrapped in blankets., in the wind, determined to 'get some rays'!
We met a British couple with a MH. They both lived and worked in Norway, and now they are retired, come back on holiday. They told us that this May has been exceptionally wet and cold.
It is usually a drier month and May 2014 was really warm and dry.  Somehow I don't think knowing this helped!

It dried up a bit this pm so we went for a walk along the Fjord.   There are orchards along the banks with lovely blossom.  We saw a pair of bullfinches, beautiful birds, but a real pest for stripping the blossom buds.
Tonight is the Eurovision song Contest.  It always used to be Norway who got 'nul points' but I think that accolade now goes to the UK! We'll see.   Sunset is now about 10.30 - it's getting later as we move north.
As we move north we will be doing more wild camping, so the blog will probably become more general, with entries every 4/5 days, so stick with us.
We are now considering returning via Finland and Sweden.
PS Happy 20th birthday to my Grandson,Jack x
