Cruising to Hope Town

Green Turtle Cay, Out Islands, Bahamas
I'm up way to early this morning but El Nido has been winging on the mooring ball a lot with lots of bow noise, this doesn't happen often but when it does its noisy in our cabin. Perfect time to catch up with the world, stretch and reflect on the amazing day yesterday filled with adventures and lessons learned.

Today it's a bit breezy but we don't have far to go and with the protection of these Cay's we shouldn't bounce around much .

The plan is to show Wayne and Julie Hope Town I know they will love it there. I might run the stairs to the light house again but my foot is a bit sore, I smacked it on the boat after my not so elegant step into the water with my scuba gear on :-) I have since practiced that moved many times with the snorkel gear on so that won't happen again! Dinner will be out tonight at either Captain Jacks or the marina restaurant we will sort that out later.

++++++++++++++++++++++

Our day had a ver leisurely morning, the men took the dingy in to the marina to check out a Meridian 541 yes the skipper is have 10 footitis ;-) Julie and I enjoyed a nice meditation on the bow in the sunshine. After what seamed like a long time we noticed the men rowing the dingy back my first thought was they were out of gas but nope the engine stopped, it has just been serviced so that was frustrating . Good part was Wayne has mechanic training and within a few short minutes he had the thing purring again....thank you Wayne. The water was a lot more bumpy yes winds are back up a bit but we slowly cruised towards Man O War Cay making our way to Hope Town. We took her into the bay at Man O War Cay to see what it was like in there, it's a huge bay with a marina looks really nice and it was very busy so perhaps we should explore this further another day.

We arrived at Hope Town around 2:30 and skipper masterfully docked us in some lovely winds and a very narrow space the crew all worked together and it was perfect. The marina is busy as it was last time we were here and I'm happy to be in a new slip just for a change of scenery :-) We took a quick tour around the marina after registering and as luck would have it a local fisherman was cleaning some great looking Mahi Mahi and Wahoo fish and they were for sale...yahoo dinner! Julie and I went into town so I could show her around this quant Island, Marjorie the fruit we saw last time were sour oranges one of the ladies passing by filled us in on that. The boys stayed on the boat to wash her down and we joined them on the cockpit for a cocktail. A daily cruising meeting over appy's followed with the skippers report on the winds and weather the group decision was made to stay in the Abaco area more opportunities for diving, snorkelling and fishing if we stay here with the winds kicking up again...so no pink sand beach's of Harbour Island for Julie either Marjorie...I'm hopeful that at some point this winter we will get there.

Dinner was incredible we enjoyed grilled Wahoo thanks Wayne accompanied by Ceaser Salad and mashed sweet potato's...sweet for the night was kit kat's. We listened to James Taylor and played dice I have to say another amazing day.
