Great Guana Cay, Hope Town, Bahamas
Good morning and happy February Full Moon day :-)

This is our second full moon of the vacation and it looks like we will have a real moon show tonight, we have awoke to full sunshine and warm air yahoo!

The plan for the day is to get our scuba tanks filled prep for when Doug and Patti arrive . We will then cruise over to Guana Cay and anchor for the night. We want to dingy into the Island and explore apparently there are a couple of fun pubs there and shops to visit so we will look into that.

Along the way perhaps a snorkel and fishing it would be nice to catch some nice fresh protein for dinner.

Our trip into town to fill the tanks was great we enjoyed a wonderful coffee at the local coffee shop it is the best decaf I've tasted. Back to the boat with the tanks it take long for us to push off the dock it was a bit windy but we had trouble. Our cruise over to Guana Cay was nice and slow we enjoyed the warmth and the sunshine, I even had opportunity to lye on the bow while we cruised. It is one of my favorite things to lye there enjoying the warm air and the sounds of the gentle waves. Our first stop was Fowl Cay for a Snorkel and Dive we explored a few new reef patches but they were not amazing so we ended up diving back at what I like to call the Big Round Reef its so full of fish and coral and easy to navigate I can't get lost!

This was my 3rd dive this year and I'm feeling much more confident with my skills, I had no problem stepping off the boat into the water and going down to the bottom was effortless . The highlight of the dive for me was when Bryan took me right up tot he coral we gently held on and peaked up over the top of the coral heads where we saw huge tropical fish coming and going it was like we were spying on them and they didn't care...they were so close it was incredible!

We decided on a mooring ball so I navigated and Bryan did the lines it's not easy for a shorter person like me to pull up the mooring ball line and I'm feeling comfortable with the helm now so much easier to captain in this situation :-) After launching the dingy (and yes she started) we made our way into shore to check things out. We were very pleased...they have several bean bag games, the ring game, Grabbers Bar and gift shop. Oh and they had a small pool and some cottages to rent so yet another great vacation spot off a boat in the Bahamas. We chatted with another couple who own a 49 ft Searay and enjoyed watching the sunset until the little no-see-ums came out...yikes we were eaten alive, so note to self put the bug cream on before you hit Sunset Beach.

We enjoyed dinner on the boat and watched a movie we were tired after a day in the sun.
