Great Guana Cay, Hope Town, Bahamas
We are up and preparing to leave this marina for a few days. The plan is to fish and snorkel and enjoy the calm waters of the day.

We will be anchoring tonight in Fishers Bay off of Guana Cay and home of sunset beach .

It amazes me how much you can pack into one day in the Bahama's or as little. We started the day on the water with some fishing time we fished all the way to Guana Cay but sadly nothing was biting. Doug heard from someone on the docks yesterday that fishing with a North wind is never a good idea how these guys know these things I have no idea. Doug unfortunately was hit with a bit of sea sickness so was down for a few hours but by noon was feeling so much better.

We set anchor off of what I like to call dingy beach, the sand here his soft white / pink pillowy soft just stunning. It is located right near the Bakers Bay golf course which is exclusive to the Bakers Bay people the fancies I like to call them. Our first snorkel wasn't all that successful because the current was running fast and the swimming was very difficult so we hopped out. Bryan then went down with the scuba gear to change out the anodes these are there to stop the corrosion on the boat and were in dire need of changing. We enjoyed lunch and some time in the sunshine all of the crew had a bit of nap it was just great.

After we all woke up we decided to take the dingy into the beach for a walk, I was very nervous this beach and I have history and again the big waves that break just on the beach turned our dingy but Doug and Bryan did not allow it to flip and we all managed to get ashore safely. Next time I see this beach I suggest we take the dingy down the beach where it is calmer before we enter...please :-) Back on the boat we decide to dingy over to the snorkeling mooring boys that are there for people to enjoy the reef. The current wasn't an issue and we enjoyed a great snorkel experience complete with the viewing of a lemon shark, a few very large barracuda, tropical fish a many and the highlight for me was the cutest little spotted trunk fish.

We left the dingy out and slowly cruised over to Fisher bay off of Guana Cay and secured ourself onto a mooring ball for the night. We dingy'd into the beach for a drink at Grabbers and watched the sunset it was beautiful.

Nachos followed by prawn pasta was on the menu for the evening and the music video of the night was The Hip. We were in bed early it was a very full wonderful day.

I will post lots of pictures later when we are in a wireless zone.
