Rain and more rain!

Keswick, England, United Kingdom
Today started sunny and we set off walking. Walked up hill and then down to the edge of Lake Derwentwater, to Hawes End, then along the shore to High Brandle How. Beautiful scenery of hills and the lake, but got wetter and wetter.

Then took the little ferry around the lake to Keswick, and did some more shopping, preceded by coffee and followed by lunch to get out of the rain . Weather brightened up in time for us to take the boat home and then walk the last 2 km, in time for an afternoon snooze!

Bird watching great outside, with the feeders, but we also spotted several species of ducks and geese on the lake as well as swans and a heron.

I am totally absorbed with all your accounts /diaries of the travels. It all sounds really magical. So hoping the weather bucks up for the remaining days in the Lake District.
I am off to the Yorkshire Dales on Sat, walking with the local Rambling Group. Will be opting for the 'easier' walks as some climbs reach high altitudes and not sure how my back will cope.
Still not sure how the reunion will map out finally with so many dates/ difficulties, however will keep you in the loop.
Just been half watching a program about Queensland coastline, really good to revisit Fraser Island and it's geography and dingos. Also a revisit to Brisbane which brings back such happy memories.
Hope to see you both again in October though will be away 2-9th.
Love to John, Theresa and hubby!,
