A Land of Waterfalls

Bergen, Western Fjords, Norway
Left the camp and drove north, bypassing Haugesund itself, then turned inland, more and more beautiful fjords. Those inland have steep, sometimes wooded, sometimes smooth rocky (glacial gouging) sides, but do not have the fishing villages the coastal fjords have.

We came to one after another spectacular waterfalls, some enough to soak you if you got too close . Each one different so needed to stop and stand in awe. Langfoss Falls is spectacular at 612 metres.

Took our final ferry, for a while. They seem to be like buses - no-one in the queue until 5 minutes before departure and then 40 vehicles appear. Our final ferry crossed Hardanger fjord, probably Norway's best known fjord, from Jondal to Torvikbygd . Then drove towards Bergen.

We had picked out a Bobil Camp but it was buried under a new high rise, so went elsewhere. We seem to be clocking up tolls everywhere we go; you only know as you pass under an automatic boom. John stopped adding up days ago, as it seems the Norwegians will send us a bill.

Bergen tomorrow. We have seen so much spectacular scenery in the last few days, I am sure there is much we are missing but it is all so beautiful and we drive for hours with no traffic.
