Enjoying the sun in Mandurah.

Scarborough, Western Australia, Australia
Hot and sunny morning so we had planned a trip down the coast to the town of Mandurah.
The roads were not too busy even though it was Sunday and the journey was very pleasant .
Mandurah is still I'm pleased to say a really lovely settlement. There are lots of very expensive looking apartment blocks all set around lakes, canals and green spaces. It was lovely to walk around just soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying Sunday with everyone else. Morning tea was taken overlooking the lake on a rather wobbly boardwalk, passing 'traffic' adding to our experience but it was quite good fun.
The craft market was there again so we passed some time looking around the different stalls and chatting to one really nice lady who sold us some lovely wraps; having given us a demonstration on the different ways they can be worn.
Walking on we found some very pretty wall paintings of flowers that would make a great embroidery project. There was also a really sweet sculpture of the 'drovers dog' outside one of the older hotels.
Lunch was enjoyed at a Thai restaurant overlooking the bay. As the food arrived we noticed a pair of dolphins swimming in the harbour. Such a lovely sight, wonder if they were the same ones we saw earlier in the other part of the lake? Any way it very good meal, spoiled only by the staff anxiety to close up while we were still finishing off.
It's always sad leaving Mandurah, but we did make a stop over at Rockingham on the way back, quite a nice little place with a lovely beach. Obviously a popular place for families on a Sunday.
They do have great ice cream too!
Another great day in WA.
