Scarborough, Western Australia, Australia
An other great adventure today, further north to the Yanchep National Park. It was a good journey, not too many hold ups so we were able to get there relaxed and ready to explore. It was a beautiful parkland area, set out in gardens around a lake as well as the bush areas on the surrounding area.
Having checked out the information centre ; they had some amazing examples of Aboriginal art in various forms and enjoyed a good picnic we set off to find the koalas as we were told there was an area where a whole bunch of them lived . Walking through and studying trees we found several at various places perched in the crook of trees, clinging on and mostly fast asleep! They looked so cute it's hard to remember they are not cuddly teddy bears. We watched them for ages.Further exploration took us on the route through the woods. It was really hot, 35 degrees today, so the walk could have been heavy going except that we were able to stop kangaroos around the park - resting in shadows, munching leaves etc.
They look really gorgeous creatures, happy to pose for photos and stick around for ages, as long as you don't get too close. Even the little Joey's hopped around quite happily.
