RV to Yealering!

York, Western Australia, Australia
Another early start as today we collect our camper vans and begin our tour of parts of WA.
We arrived promptly and the Britz centre to collect said vans; our little Venturer was ready but Laurie's van had developed a problem and it would take a while to fix . Over two hours later it was ready and we could start the shopping and set off on the road.
First stop the lovely little town of York, the guide books called it 'pretty' and we were not disappointed. All the buildings were dated from the Late Nineteenth century and still had their original detail. The locals were very friendly, we chatted with a local shop keeper who invite us in to see her original penny farthing bicycle. It was in amazing condition and obviously took pride of place in her shop. We took photos and she happily joined in, rewarding us with sherbet lemon sweeties.
Having had a really lovely time exploring the Main Street and having a quick lunch stop, it was time to move on to our overnight accommodation.
The roads got more empty and the route more winding as we went deeper into the unknown.
The landscape was quite stunning and very rugged.
We eventually arrived at Yealering just as twilight descended and to say the site was a shock was putting it mildly. Everywhere in the 'town' was shut and the camp ground was just an open space with some electrical hookups. There were also some rather suspect loos and showers.
Still it was somewhere to park up and settle in for the night. It will be an early start in the morning.
