Where is Slovenia?? A beautiful country bordered by Italy, Hungary, Austria, Croatia and a small bit of the Mediterranean.
We set off to walk around Lake Bled
. Sunny but decidedly windy and chilly day, probably 6 degrees on rising. There is a beautiful little church on an island you pass on the way around the lake .Called into the markets, and then climbed up to Bled Castle. Not so old, a bit touristy
( you could pay $10 for their wine, or $18 for the same wine with a personalised label printed on their own ancient printing press!!) but fabulous views.
All in all a 10 km walk, so beautiful all around. Bit too gusty for archery when we got back, or for a row boat to the island. Settled down to camp oven pork casserole cooked on the Cobb instead. No more rain!!
Camping in Slovenia is regulated - no free camping. However, their camps are superb, free wifi over the whole campground and no more expensive than the very unprepared, almost derelict camps that we have stayed in to date.
